What you need :

• Two dish cloths (20x27") with the same colour or printing.
• scissors,
• a sewing needle,
• thread,
• pins,
• cotton for embroidery,
• a straight branch (bamboo could do the trick) 30" long.

Making the pouch :

1° Cut one of the two dish cloths in two halves (lengthwise). You will get two bits of 27*10".

2° Fold each band in three. Put the squares on top. Pin them.

3° Lift the flap and sew each end. Then sew on two additional lines about 6" from the edges so as to make three pouches.

Do the same with the other band

4° On the second dish cloth make a hem at the top about 1" wide. Pull the branch (bamboo) through. Attach the string to the right and to the left with a knot.

5° Sew the second dish cloth on the bands you made along the same lines as before. For a stronger set sew at the bottom, in the fold of the flap.

A few ideas :

You can embroid on the flap the names of the boys in your patrol or the members of your family. That way everybody can find his/her napkin beforehand.
