Water is essential to all forms of life. Without water there can’t be life. That’s why you have to make sure you don’t waste it and you don’t pollute it.
The needs of freshwater in the world
Each day a man needs about 2.5 liters of water to be healthy.
In developed countries like Great Britain, the authorities keep a good eye on the quality of water. However in some developing countries, many deseases (cholera, typhoid, dysentery...) and millions of deaths are caused by a crucial lack of water and its poor quality.
Estimates say that about one human out of four doesn’t get his required amount of freshwater everyday.

When you are camping you can’t use the city’s infrastructures that clean the water before it is sent back to nature. Therefore you need to be cautious not to dispose of your waste water too close from a spring or a river. Your waste water would not have time to benefit from the soil’s filtering properties and would immediately pollute the freshwater nearby.
